Online business Gurus are fond of telling us that we should listen to them because of their successful experience in online business for x-number of years. It’s true! I would rather listen to, and hopefully learn from, someone who has a proven track record of business success.
I’m not a guru, but I want to share just one thing I have learned from my more than twenty-five years of mostly unsuccessful online business experience.
DON’T BUY SOMETHING IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO USE IT RIGHT NOW!
Now, obviously that’s just my opinion – but I have a big reason for believing that it’s good advice. I have bought thousands of dollars worth of training and tools and most of it has sat unused, and even forgotten about, on my hard drive – sometimes for years. Yes, I have suffered from a bad case of “shiny object syndrome” and I suggest that you NOT follow my example.
Well, that’s my “guru” type advice for today. Stay away from shiny objects!
Of course, if you need something now, and can afford what’s being offered, by all means buy it. But buy it and use it. Don’t just buy it because its such a good deal.
I’ll go just a little bit further and say don’t even take advantage of free offers if they are not something you can use right away. They will just steal your time if you try to learn how to use them (when you don’t really need them now), and they will make you feel bad about yourself if you just accumulate free stuff and never use it.
Again, just my opinion.
